For instance; if a firm or brand is advertising a good or service for a particular geographical area, they can do so easily through print media. A local daily newspaper or a weekly tabloid would be the finest medium to promote a new shopping center or mall. However, there are limitations to this medium. It may not give a wide reach for all time. On the contrary, Internet can target a huge audience. (Buzzle 2010) The competition is tough between print media and electronic media. However, both the media remain successful in shaping the opinion and advertising the product. Mass communication floods readers on routine basis in the form of both print and electronic media. One might feel that print media has more advantages in contrast with electronic and vice versa. Rather, each of these types of mass communication has its own characteristics. Bothe the media share much in common. In fact, the newspaper industry depends on both print and electronic media to broadcast news to its readership base. (Withers) While both print media and electronic media venture to communicate textual content, each of these two types of communication must attend to unique concerns in order to deliver readable content. Computer has its own benefits including Spell-check and auto-suggest functions in word processing programs. These functions assist the authors in writing. Moreover, online audiences are inclined to be more responsive and are more enthusiastic for participating in debates. Other features available online such as website layout, font size and screen glare are more fascinating and cheaper as compared to the print version. However, the credibility of content and authenticity of news is questionable when it comes to online papers. (Fiore 2010) It should be understood as well that there is a problem with having everything be web-based, something people know if theyve ever been working in an environment where their work depends on having a network connection. What if you cant get online? What if theres a problem with the website? What happens when the 10-year-old Cambodian hackers consortium finally gets lucky with their SuperVirus? (Fiore 2010) Browsing material available within print and electronic media requires readers to employ different search plan. With minimal knowledge and software, computer users can create searchable PDF documents at their homes or in their offices. Likewise, search tags are a great help to users if they want to search emails, photos and virtual bookmarks. Print media can be organized into folders (for e.g. newspaper sections). It is on a readers convenience to prefer one type of media over another. It depends profoundly on readers own psychology. (Withers) Seemingly, print media is being overcome by electronic media. In this epoch of information technology, old methods of transferring information such as the Newspapers and magazines are slowly but surely losing down their magnitude in contrast to the computer even in the marketing world. (Hrastnik 2005) Whatever the case may be, media has strong influence on public ever since the advent of mass communication through media. Our opinions are shaped by what we are shown and told on television and in newspapers. Populations personal belief or judgment regarding certain facts or issues is majorly formed by media. Journalism or any other form of transferring information increasingly relates to psychology of public. Psychology brings cognitive theories to media studies. It helps the journalism to relate more to what is presented by media and what is received by the public. Participatory journalism is the result of such theories. In educational discussions of mass media, psychology has long endowed with perceptions, techniques, and theories of its function. All types of media can be portrayed in simple terms, for instance if someone comments about a movie that it was comical or romantic or heartbreaking, or saying an article was very distinguished, or describing the Internet as chaotic. But when the theories of a discipline are added to an investigation of something, those theories give the subject matter a structure, or a hypothetical standpoint. Though what psychologists have revealed about media and its interaction with public is diverse. Some psychologists explore the messages we see or hear and their influence on people: subliminal messages in advertisements or the way women are portrayed on television. Women on television are commonly very skinny. Psychologists have done research that proposes that the bonny women on television make a stereotype that reads aloud that women should be thin. But the real-life women have different body sizes so they dont feel good about themselves. Research also tells that because of these stereotypes eating disorders have increased among women. Sometimes it is what we do not see and hear in the media that makes or enforces a stereotype. For instance, have you ever seen a sitcom that revolves around an Asian-American family? Not seeing Asian-Americans on television keeps such people invisible in the mainstream of society. Since the media has become a source of shared cultural experience that people use to understand the world around them, it is important to explore what we are getting from the media. (Lane 2001) Nonetheless, social responsibility is the basic element for any medium of communication in which media get support to report responsibly. Equilibrium must be struck between complete control over information and lack of restraint.

Maglev Trains As almost any child knows, magnets have the ability to attract and repel other magnets. This knowledge is now being utilized in separate projects in Germany and Japan to propel and levitate a new and innovative type of train, the magnetic lift train. A German company called Transrapid is now able to build a train takes advantage of a magnets ability to attract magnetic materials. Upon observing the system from a distance, it looks to be composed of only T-shaped track and a train that wraps around the ledges of the track. However, the wrap-around part of the train hides the mechanisms that cause the train to levitate and to fly through the air. Ferromagnets on the underside of both of both the track’s ledges attract electromagnets on the wrap-around-the-track part of the train that is adjacent to the ferromagnets. A computer controls the amount of current flowing through the electromagnets in order to keep the train at a constant 1 cm from the track (#5). These electromagnets are powered by onboard batteries that are charged by linear generators that convert motion into electricity. In addition, the train needs more than its levitation system to maintain its proper lateral position on the track. The Transrapid syst em accomplishes this feat by creating an attractive field between magnets on both the track’s ledge’s sides and on the interior sides of both the warp-around-the-track parts of the train. The two attractive forces cancel each other out and cause the train to remain in the same lateral distance from the track.(Most of the information is form #4.) In addition to levitating the vehicles with magnetic forces, the Transrapid train’s propulsion system also uses magnetism. The forces used to propel and break the vehicle are both created with the aluminum three-phase cable winding in the ferromagnets on the track and the electromagnets on the train. The train moves forward when an alternating current, supplied by an outside source, is sent through the windings on the track. This creates an alternating magnetic field that both pushes and pulls the train along the track. In order to slow the train down the alternating current is reversed. This causes the train to be pushed and pulled in the direction opposite of its motion. Also, this system is energy efficient because instead of electrifying the entire track, the only electrified part is length where the train is traveling.

The ad pledges to viewers that by using Thermasilk products, they must not just â€Å"Blow DRY† their hair, instead they should â€Å"Blow Beautiful.† The ad emphasizes that Thermasilk products will improve the hair’s beauty. Looking good in today’s world is an important aspect that includes hair in its approach to superior fashio n. The advertiser uses popular music and an appealing saying in order to interest women who want the hair they do not have. With style and emotional appeals, including the need for attention, for prominence and the need to achieve, this Thermasilk ad lures in viewers in the attempt to stimulate feelings in their minds. In â€Å"Advertising’s Fifteen Basic Appeals,† by Jib Fowels, he relies on style to add to the emotional appeals that illustrate advertisements. The advertiser used a stylistic approach to increase the attention the ad receives. As a means to support his use of style along with emotional appeals, Fowels states, â€Å"[r]oughly fifteen percent of all advertisements incorporate a celebrity, almost always from the fields of entertainment or sports.† This other grouping of... ...and helps guide them towards their desired status. I Prefer to Live in Big Cities than in Small-towns In English, there is a well-known fairy story about a poor country boy, Dick Whittington, who goes to London because he believes that the streets of that city are â€Å"paved with gold†. The story is a tale of â€Å"from rags to riches†. Dick eventually becomes the Lord Mayor of London. Like the hero of that story, I love to take adventure in the cities. I grew up in a small town and then moved to a big city, so I have experienced the good and bad sides of both. I never thought that I would like living in a big city, but I was wrong.Cities contain a great assortment of people. Whenever I walk around a shopping precinct at midday on a weekend, I am fascinated by all the different types of people hurrying around the shops. Sometimes, I just sit on a public bench and simply watch the variegated streams of shoppers. Today, in the age of globe-trotting transport and communications, city life is more mixed than it has ever be en. Capital cities are not cosmopolitan, and eager to attract foreign trade currency. There is a contemporary English joke which tells that â€Å"you can never find an Englishman in London†.The United States is made up of people of different races, religions, abilities, and interests. However, you seldom find such a variety of people in a smaller town. I think that living in an area where everyone was just like me would quickly become boring. Whether rightly or wrongly, I love the excitement of big cities. Small towns have a slow pace. Large cities mean you have to adapt to a variety of situations, like finding a new route to work or trying a new restaurant. I enjoy that challenge very much. Another pan of the excitement of city living is the variety of cultural activities available.There is a wide assortment of theatre, music and dance performances available in big cities. These things are rare in small ones. Governments and local authorities usually build public amenities i n the big cities. Money is invested in transport, libraries, parks and museums. Often, countries will compete with each other for the best â€Å"show-case† building. Malaysia has built a skyscraper that is taller than is anything in New York. In large countries, region will compete against region: New York against Chicago, Shanghai against Hong Kong and Beijing. All of this is good for the citizen.The magic of the Dick Whittington story is rekindled in me when I enter a library in a magnificent building. If a person is at university studying art or music, a large city usually offers galleries and public performances. Even when I was a teenager, I appreciated the worth of living in a city because two or three times a year there was a rock concert by one of my favorite bands. There is one thing I want to talk is small-towns and big cities both have some problems in terms of transportation. In a small town, you have to own a car to ensure a comfortable living.You can't get aroun d without one because there isn't any kind of public transportation. Big cities generally have heavy traffic and expensive parking, but there you have a choice of taking public transportation. It's not free, but it's often cheaper than driving when you consider gas and time. Especially if you don't have a car, you're better off in the city. And of course, security is a concern, and that's one area where small towns are superior to big cities. Still, I would rather be a bit more cautious and live in a large city than to feel secure but bored.

Because of this disease, a lot of Filipinos died. Dengue is a disease caused by any one of the four related viruses transmitted by mosquitos. One of the easiest ways to prevent mosquitoes is to use Mosquito Repellent. This is the reason why the researchers want to make an alternative Mosquito Repellent.There are many commercial Mosquito Repellent available in the market. The commonly used commercial Mosquito Repellent in the Philippines is quite unaffordable and use chemical that may cause irritation. The researchers planned to use natural ingredients. Since the ingredient to be use is natural, the Mosquito Repellent to be made is more affordable and environmental friendly. The ingredient that the researchers are going to use is Lemongrass.Lemongrass has natural anti-microbial properties, is an antis eptic, suitable for use on various types of skin infections, usually as a wash or compress, and is especially effective on ringworm, infected sores, acne and athlete’s foot. Lemongrass is also used as a Mosquito Repellent. In using this product, you will spray it over all exposed skin areas. Avoid spraying near your eyes. You may reapply after washing. If irritation occurs, wash of immediately and discontinue use. The very most importance of this product is to avoid or prevent the spread of various diseases caused by mosquito bites.Mosquito Repellent is a substance skin, clothing, or other surfaces which discourages insects from landing or climbing on that surface. Nowadays, people encountered various diseases such as malaria and dengue. Due to economic crises the researcher found a solution to get rid of mosquitos that exist in locality. However the following product is tested by the following stake holders such as client, teachers, students, and workers.The researchers find the study significant because there is an increasing number of mortality due to mosquito bites, although there are alternative solutions to this problem. Filipinos cannot deny that some of their brothers and sisters cannot afford to buy organic insect repellent made out of lemongrass. Scope and Limitations The researcher’s product is only limited to minimize the amount of mosquitoes in a certain household. Redneck Recording Process

How do you record a song? Hmm, well that's easy. It's easy if you follow the three steps, of the Redneck Recording Process. First we jam or play what we feel like playing. Jamming is a very unstructured thing. Jamming usually consists of playing the old â€Å"guit-fiddle† or (guitar by its normal name), having a good time, watching movies and talking shop. Second we take the song we wrote and set up the Rednek Recording Studio (, Misspelled on purpose. ) And finally we'll put it on to tape. Mix it, master it, and finally burn it to CD. This makes it easier to sell. So now lets record â€Å"Brew Drinkin-Hell Raisers† to tape. The first step in the Redneck Recording Process is to jam out. My friend comes over and we just start playing. After about thirty minutes to an hour of playing and shop talk we usually have a riff (Musical Melody for the guitar) to work off of for the song. Most of the time this will end up being the bridge or the chorus. After the riff is placed in the song. Well start working out the other parts of the song. Because were both guitarists we'll figure out the other parts of the song later. After another fifteen to forty minutes we basically have the song's guitar parts and vocal melodies worked out. When hitting out the vocals, I usually like to Shoot from the hip. So Chris plays the riff while I start singing words. This part is usually pretty funny cause like Ozzy Osbourne; I usually just sing random words. Sometimes it takes three hours other times it takes three days. After we've got the Melody, I've usually got a basic idea were the lyrics are going. It usually takes me some time to get down some lyrics that work for the song. Ok now that the guitars and vocals are worked out, well take the song to the bass player. He listens awhile to the song gives us some ideas, Then he makes the bass lines for â€Å"Brew Drinkin-Hell Raisers†. Then the drummer does the same. After all the parts are finished. We will re-hearse â€Å"BDHR† until we have it down right. â€Å"Brew Drinkin-Hell Raisers† is now ready to be taken to Rednek Rekording Studio, or RRS for short to record it. Rednek Recording Studio is also known as a house. Just to let you know, this paragraph is filled with products and descriptions of them to futher your knowledge of recording. Ok, the song is firing on all cylinders, so lets set up the studio. First we will get the gear we need, so we'll go to a rental company such as Rock & Roll Rentals. First off the mixing board, for this well use the Behringer MX2642A Euro rack to a Tascam DA-P1 DAT recorder. (DAT is short for Digital Audio Tape). Ok we now have the base of RRS, for the rest of the Studio Equipment, I'll just explain the instrument, amp, and microphone used to capture their sound. The rhythm guitar is a Gibson Les Paul Custom running through a Lee Jackson XLA-1000 Amplifier dry. Dry is a term meaning no effects are added to the signal (sound) till after the recording. To record it we are going to â€Å"close mic† or put the mic right next to the speaker cabinet so we get as little atmosphere as possible. The mic I chose is a Shure SM-57 to give it a nice flat sound which is easier to mix. We'll get to the mixing later. For the Lead guitar were using another Gibson Les Paul Custom. The Paul is going dry into a Marshall JCM 800 to a close mic'd SM-57. So they can hear what's going on with the rest of the band Ill hook up some monitors (speakers). Now we have the guitars done, so lets move to the â€Å"thump and the bump† of the ensemble. The drum set is Tama Star Classic Trap Set similar to the one used by Lars Ulrich of Metallica. To mic this were going to use four mics. First one is for the snare, once again were using a SM-57, Boy those really seem to be popular. The second is for the Kick drum we'll try the AKG D112 microphone. The final two mics are the overheads, for these well employ the AKG C-418's. The Drums are now set up in a separate room with some head phones to hear the other band members. Lets move onto the bass; He's going to use an Ernie Ball Stingray bass to a Galien Krueger 2001RB mic'd by a once again a SM-57. Since the bass is in the same room as the guitars, he can hear whats going on. Last we just have to get the vocals. For this well set up in the shower with headphones and an AKG tube (a vacuum Tube) mic for that tube warmth. Whew finally RRS is set up and ready to Rock. Well, we are cocked, locked and ready to rock! Lets get started on recording. With all our mics, monitors, and headphones are hooked up, were going to get a few practice takes in. After we're all in the same groove, we're going to lay it down for real. After about seven takes we've probably got the best were going to get. So we start mixing. First the producer and the artists, who in this case are the same people, start listening to the takes. So I don't get bogged down in techno mumble-jumbo again, let's say we all nailed it on the same take. Now were going to mix it. Basically sound is a 3D ball that has to be assembled. Mixing assembles this ball by cutting and boosting frequencies, volume and adding effects. So â€Å"BD-HR† is now mixed perfectly, so were going to burn this onto a cd. So the song is now on tape and cd which will make it much more accessible for fans. We have been through the three very tedious yet enjoyable steps of the Redneck Recording Process. First I, told you about the jam session, which can only be described not explained. Secondly I gave you the set up of the RRS used to record the song. The third step recording the song. Sorry for the over technical second paragraph, but all of the tools are instrumental to making the record sound right. So hopefully the process and point of this paper got through.
